Welcome to Saint Barbara Greek Orthodox Church

Saint Barbara Summer Day Camp

Our Summer Camp is held on our Church grounds during one week in the summer. It is open to all children between the ages of 4 -13 to participate as campers, and children ages 14 and older as counselors. The campers are divided into two groups: The Pre-School age children begin the day at 9:00 am and conclude the day at 12:30 pm, after eating lunch. The second group of children (starting with those who have completed Kindergarten through those who have completed eighth grade) begin the day at 9:00 am and conclude the day at 4:00 pm.

Teens ages 14 (who are entering 9th grade) - 19 years of age, are invited to participate as counselors and assist a group of adult volunteers. Other staff positions are also available (including kitchen, arts & crafts, athletics and teachers). In the summer of 2004, we had 130 campers and 36 counselors participate in the summer camp. We also had over 50 Young Adults, Parents and Grandparents who volunteered their time and talents as members of our camp staff.

The total number of children participating in the camp program of our church was 166, and the staff involved bousted the number of participants to over 210! The camp program was initiated in 1997, designed and co-directed by Presbytera Vangie and Father Peter and has been a smashing success. The summer camp in 2006 is scheduled for June 26 – 30.
