Parish Council
Saint Barbara Parish Council members are called to serve as role models for parishioners and take their ministry very seriously. They lead through example by attending Church and parish events, and regularly participating in the sacramental life of the Church.
In all things, Council members seek to imitate our Lord Jesus Christ, who “came not to be served but to serve” (Matthew 20:28). The entire focus of the Parish Council is to serve the needs of the faithful and to spread the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Serving on the Parish Council is a sacred trust. It carries with it responsibility not only for the mounting demands being made upon our Parish, but also for the unending stream of challenges being faced by the Church Universal.
The leadership team that directs each Parish is the Priest and the Parish Council. Just as the Parish is a team, so is the entire Church a team working toward the goals set forth by our Chief Shepherd (1 Peter 5:4) and eternal leader, Jesus Christ; we are all interconnected as members of Christ’s own Body, His Church.
Parish Council members are called to lead by example and embody the virtues of humility and temperance and have a sense of peace, love, and understanding for their fellow parishioners. To follow the work of those who came before; and to act faithfully as a steward of Christ’s Church for His glory, for the betterment of the Church and the salvation of the world.
